‘Adrian’ explores the genre of Character Study Films, and revolves around the titular character and his decisions rather than the plot. The film focuses on his everyday struggles, be it familial or school, and how he reacts towards them, as well as how he interacts with the world around him, building his character and defining him as more of an isolated person. Through secondary characters and the struggles he has to face, the film explores Adrian and his emotional and mental states. His reactions and mannerisms allow us to understand what he is feeling, and maybe even relate to other people we know or ourselves and help us understand what they’re going through. Ultimately, a Character Study Film should be somewhat relatable to the viewers to grasp their attention and also leave an impact.
