Carmen is passionate about self-care awareness campaigns for mental and physical health. She is mindful of how many people currently disregard their well-being as an outcome of insecurities about their natural appearances driven by visual beauty standards. Her project analysed the impact of the rising problems with beauty standards set by social media’s influence, and designed a strategy for raising public awareness about the technology’s negative effects on us, as well as how we can improve ourselves through proper self-care. Her project manifests into a magazine and a brochure featuring a variety of methods for handling one’s appearance through mental and physical care and ways to avoid engaging in toxic behaviour on social media.
