Martha believes that costume design for video game characters is one of the most important aspects of building a character. Meanwhile, costume design itself brings out a whole visual background story of the character, such as age, gender, and personality. Her project consists of 2 original characters – a British-born high-class male and a Maltese working-class female. The setting is the 1890s Victorian era in Malta. The project identifies and explores the amalgamation of historically accurate attire with internet subculture fashion trends like Dark Academia and Cottagecore.
