Miguel Farrugia’s choreography ‘The Struggle’ forms part of his dissertation titled “How Have Digital Dance Cultures Affected Audience Engagement with Concert Dance” which explores how concert dance and audience engagement might have been affected by digital dance. It aims to draw in the emotions of the audience by using different elements which are found in the theatre, but not found on dance videos on social media. Miguel has been influenced by these videos during the creation of this choreography, but he adapted them to fit a theatrical performance using Hip Hop and street styles such as Popping and House.
