‘Today, Tomorrow, and Yesterday’ is a short film based on extensive and explorative research on the “Neon City” style of film. This style originated in East Asian countries and this project looks at how to implement the themes and visual look of those films in a Maltese context. The storyline focuses on the theme – lonely people in neon cities – which is a common theme found within this particular style of film making. In this film, the main character Astrid is haunted by a series of past events and is overwhelmed by the weight of her own thoughts. She embarks on a journey of self-reflection and discovery where she is hoping to reclaim her own identity.
