‘Confessions on a Runway’ is a collection revolving around ‘freedom of the self’ and a celebration of self-expression, rejecting social boundaries and focusing on the ‘groove within one’s self’. This menswear collection embodies a disco concept inspired by Madonna’s 2005 “Confessions on a Dance Floor” album and respective tour. Aspects of funk inspired by Jamiroquai can also be seen through occasional oversized fits, silhouette cutouts and stitch details. The use of liquid silk satin and printed velvets in the collection brings out the ‘tackier’ side of disco, while silks and chiffon give a certain balance and class.
